Most of the attention in public engagement goes to a handful of big, high-profile projects. The real picture is in everything else – we call it everyday democracy. It's the park redesigns, street plans and playground choices where residents take part, week after week, and it's where trust gets built.
We analyzed 35,000 engagement projects to see what that picture looks like. In this live session, Go Vocal co-founders Wietse Van Ransbeeck (CEO) and Aline Muylaert (Head of Government Success) share what the data shows: what residents engage with, where engagement is growing, and how your plans for 2027 compare.
What we'll cover
- What residents show up for: the topics and project types that draw the most participation, and how they compare with what governments ask about.
- Where engagement is growing: the themes and methods on the rise across the countries we work in.
- How you compare: benchmarks to measure your 2027 engagement plan against, based on what similar governments do and when.
- Your questions: a live Q&A to close.
Part two: plan it with your peers on November 25
On November 25, we get hands-on. Each local session takes the findings for one country and uses examples from peers to help you build your 2027 engagement calendar:
- United Kingdom (English): Wednesday, November 25 · 11 AM GMT · with Lora James and Fraser Henderson · Session details
- Netherlands (Dutch): Wednesday, November 25 · 10 AM CET · with Yuri Martens and Jolijn Mes · Session details
- Flanders (Dutch): Wednesday, November 25 · 11:45 AM CET · with Ellen Batens and Joris Gallens · Session details
Who it's for
Engagement teams, communications leads, and directors who want to know how their engagement compares, and who want to base next year's plan on more than last year's calendar.
45 minutes: 30 minutes of findings, then 15 minutes of Q&A. Can't make it live? Sign up anyway and we'll send you the recording.
