Community Engagement Brunch

Community engagement practitioners rarely get to compare notes with people who actually do this work. Most days you’re the one running the session, not sitting in one.

This brunch is built for that conversation. A small group of practitioners, one table, and the four things that come up in almost every engagement program right now:

• Structuring the work so it doesn’t rest on one person. Who owns engagement, who reviews it, and what happens when the person holding it together goes on leave.
• Briefing executive leadership so it lands. How to get a manager or council to read the thing, and act on it.
• Connecting input to the priorities you’re already judged on. Making engagement show up in the plan, the budget, and the performance report — not just the summary deck.
• Rebuilding trust with residents who’ve been asked before. What actually works when people have participated and never heard back: closing the loop, showing what changed, and saying so out loud.
